Electroacoustic composer and saxophonist Jason Sharp presents his third album on Constellation and first purely solo recording. Following two acclaimed albums composed around particular collaborators and guest players, Sharp conceived The Turning Centre Of A Still World as an interplay strictly bounded by his own body, his acoustic instrument, and his bespoke electronic rig. The result is Sharp's most lucid, poignant, integral work to date - a singular sonic exploration of human/machine calibration, interaction, expression and biofeedback. Using saxophones, foot-controlled bass pedals, and his own pulse - patched through a heart monitor routed to various signal paths that trigger modular synthesizers and samplers - Sharp paints harmolodic waves of glistening synthesis, pink noise and digitalia. Electronic Sound has called Sharp's work "mesmerizing, like Stars Of The Lid pursuing the Sun Ra Arkestra into an electricity substation." His sound palette evokes fellow-travelers like Fennesz, Klaus Schulze, Tim Hecker, Ben Frost and Colin Stetson. This immersive, intensive, widescreen electronic album could sit comfortably as a stellar contribution to the space/sci-fi/synth soundtrack genre. But this is ultimately deeper, grittier, earthier stuff - pulsing with terrestrial granularity, charting subterranean geographies of the heart and soul. Overnight Shipping: allow 1-2 business days for delivery. All products will be shipped via UPS Next Day Air or FedEx Next Day Air. 

We offer a 30-day money back guarantee on all products purchased from Victrola.com. All items must be returned as new in their original packaging, including all accessories and cables. Albums must be unopened to receive a refund. Missing items will be charged based on suggested retail prices.

All returns must be accompanied by a valid return authorization number (RMA) issued by Victrola. If an RMA is not obtained prior to shipping, the returned product will be refused and returned to sender.

If the item is no longer wanted, the shipping cost is not refundable and returns must be shipped prepaid by the customer. There is a 15% restocking fee that will be calculated based on the price of the product once the item is refunded.

If the item is defective, a pre-paid shipping label to return the product will be provided, and no restocking fee applies.
